Donations will be accepted at the door by the Red Cross that will go directly to assist the people affected by this tragedy.

There is no admission being charged for the Night of Guitars. Donations will be collected at the door on behalf of the Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal. To estimate the attendance for this event we need to issue a free pass to anyone who wants to support this cause.

One pass will be emailed to each person who has purchased any 2016 Guitarfest Ticket by 6:00 PM May 13.

Refunds will be issued for the value of the Night of Guitars portion of All Event Saturday Passes and the full value of Night of Guitars Tickets already purchased.

Live East Productions have announced the full schedule of events taking place at the inaugural East Coast Guitar Festival being held Friday, April 24th through Sunday, April 26th at Cunard Centre in Halifax, NS.  The 2015 East Coast Guitar Festival, the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada, will offer an all-ages experience for guitar and music enthusiasts from across the region. The program includes Friday and Saturday evening concert performances from top Canadian and International talent, and a two-day,  daytime Guitar Show and Music Gear Expo with special events including the Atlantic Canada Under 19 Guitar Competition, guitar clinics and workshops, Yahama Acoustic Guitar Showcase, Guitar Museum, daytime performances, Guitar Show and Sale, and more.

The Friday, April 24th evening concert features East Coast guitar wizards Matt Minglewood, Charlie A’Court (winner of the 2015 ECMA for Blues Recording of the year), Carson Downey and Christine Campbell. This concert event is restricted to 19+ years of age.

A classically trained pianist and guitarist who can shred with the best of them, Christine Campbell will also host a “Girls and Guitars Workshop” on Saturday afternoon at 1pm.

The Atlantic Canada Under 19 Guitar Competition is a live performance based competition, divided into different age group categories, starting at eight years old. Space is currently available for all interested participants. To enter the Under 19 Guitar Competition please submit a video to [email protected] and enter Under 19 in the subject line. Performances can be solo or accompanied by a band playing electric or acoustic instruments. The competition starts at 3pm on Saturday, April 25 at the Cunard Centre. The panel of judges will select winners and award prizes in each of the various under 19 age categories, and an Overall Champion who’ll be awarded a prize package valued at over $800.

The evening concert on Saturday, April 25th will be headlined by legendary Hendrix bassist Billy Cox and his Band of Gypsys Experience, featuring guitarist Dani Robinson, and Guitar Masters – Pat Travers Band, Gary Hoey and Wild T and The Spirit. These artists have a varied songbook to draw on and will be accompanied by their respective full bands, offering a variety of styles from traditional blues, psychedelic blues, classic rock, reggae, shred guitar, right through to 60’s surf music. Pat Travers, Gary Hoey and Wild T will join Billy Cox and his Band of Gypsys for a “Salute to Hendrix”, to close out the Saturday evening concert! This concert event is restricted to 19+ years of age.

The Sunday April 26th Guitar Show and Expo includes the Guitar Exchange, an opportunity for individuals to sell or trade their extra guitars, amps and other pre-owned musical instruments and equipment. Tables are available for $35 for the day. Reserve by phone at 902-431-5483 or fill out the Guitar Exchange request form at www.guitarfest.ca (No dealers or commercial displays permitted in this section of the show). Set up begins at 8am and is open to the public beginning at 10am.

Guitar players of all ages and abilities are invited to join the Sunday afternoon Guitar Circle – a giant guitar jam of a few popular and easy to play along songs, starting at 2pm. Bring your own guitar and admission for the entire day is only $10.

Advance tickets for the evening concerts and the daytime Guitar Show and Music Gear Expo, including a limited number of Weekend Passes, VIP Passes and All Access Gold Packages, are available for purchase on line at www.guitarfest.ca  and by phone at 902-431-5483. Please note, the evening concerts are restricted to 19+ years of age. Daytime events are open to all ages.
